A couple of questions:

Does this have a monthly cost associated with the internet set up?
Since he's using a Verizon wireless broadband card, the cost is about 60-70 bucks a month. That is about the price i think for unlimited usage in the Verizon Coverage. Don't think about going international with the thing. I've seen costs go up to $14,000 for a single card when used at the intl rate per MB.

A couple of questions:

Does the powermate work like a mouse/trackball?
It's actually a keyboard emulator. For each program you tell it what keys an action should emulate. In Safari I've got it set so that turning right sends the keyboard down arrow. A long press downward (2 secs) changes to the next Space in Spaces. Etc.

Monstor is correct. My wife's company (she's an insurance adjuster) supplied her with a card about two years ago which led me to try the KR-1 with it's GPS hack so that she could (1) find her way in a new territory and (2) trick her Windows laptop into using the wireless card through the router (it didn't like switching from ethernet to anything else.) It worked so well that I got one too. There was a discount since I had a voice line with Verizon so it was around $50ish/month (but then I got the iPhone).

Cheers,

Sean
