Homelink Mirror Installation

I'm ready to begin my Homelink mirror installation and wanted to validate a few things regarding the airbag.

1. Before starting, disconnect the "Negative" battery terminal? This will eliminate the possibility of triggering an airbag detonation? Correct?

2. When I remove the A Pillar interior cover to route my wiring harness, I do not need to make any accomodation for the airbag (it doesn't fall out and is not conencted to the pillar trim piece..correct)?

Other than that, I have read all the posts so I think I know what I need to do.

Thanks.

Usually a good idea for safety's sake, but you're not in much danger of triggering the air bags.

Correct. take off the grab handle and the A-pillar interior cover pops right off with no worries. After it comes off, the A-pillar looks like this:

There is no air bag there, just wiring and some straps associated with the air bag. There is lots of room to run more wires.
