Good info there! I wonder how many dealerships are actually donig that during pre delivery?!?

And the odds that Canito is1 is getting the compass on his new FJ......about 1 to 1

TRY getting an FJ without that thing on the dash....I have been waiting a month for even a confirmation that it can be BUILT let alone located.

Thanks for the help. I was supposed to have my FJ two days ago, but it got sold while the dealer was trying to get it for me, I'll have it the 27th of this month. My dad and I are anxiously awaiting its arrival. I guess that everything worth having is worth the wait

It is not mentioned in the manual but the dealer can hook up their scan tool and turn off the DRL's with the Customized Body Electrical System.

Yes but if I understand the ECU it will revert back to factory setting if you disconnect the battery. In some area it is even illegal to disable it. I think in Canada is mandatory. It is a better solution to just disconnect the cable and if you ever need it back you can plug it back together yourself no need to go to dealer for this.

Not true. You are changing a setting in the EEPROM of the body ECU. Disconnecting the battery has nothing to do with it.

Re: What to have programmed at delivery

The following items can be "customized" by the dealer (from page IN-30 of the repair manual):
  • LIGHTING TIME (Lighting Time) - Changes illumination duration after door closure.
  • /L ON / UNLOCK (Room light illuminates when door key unlock - Function to light up the room light, when unlocking with the door key cylinder.
  • I/L ON/ACC OFF (Room light illuminates when ignition switch turned off)
  • UNLK/KEY TWICE - Unlocks only driver side door when driver side door key cylinder turned to unlock once, and unlocks all doors when turned to unlock twice. For OFF setting, turning it once unlocks all doors.
  • HAZARD ANS BACK - When wireless lock switch on transmitter pressed, illuminates all hazard warning lights once. When unlock switch pressed, all hazard warning lights illuminate twice
  • WIRELESS OPER - ON /OFF of wireless door lock function
  • ALARM FUNCTION - Operates security alarm when panic switch on transmitter continuously pressed for 1 second
  • UNLOCK/2 OPER - Function that unlocks driver side door when unlock switch on transmitter is pressed once, and unlocks all doors when pressed twice. If setting is OFF, pressing unlock switch once makes all doors unlock.
  • AUTO LOCK DELAY - Time until relocking after unlocking with wireless door lock function
  • OPEN DOOR WARN - If a door is not completely closed and LOCK is pressed, this function sounds a buzzer for 10 seconds
  • WIRELS BUZZ VOL - To adjust the volume of the wireless buzzer
Note: All other things you hear about (seat belt chime, radio color) are user changeable...

It's not mentioned in the factory repair manual either. Have you had this done on the FJ?

Not on an FJC but it is in the latest version of the scantool software. I have turned off the DRL's on other models with this method, although I haven't seen mention of it in any of the manuals for any other model either.
