IPod and Xm in aux input randomly shuts off

Everytime i put ipod or xm in aux input. It shuts off at anytime then comes back on. This is anoying. If I cut on after radio is on it will go longer before disconnecting. Antone else having this problem? Please dont ask me to check positive wire hookup to fuse box to see if they are loose. they are not. The ipod is operating off of batteries. Anyone else having these problems? So far just one other person has experienced this on another thread. Tis car is ending up to be a pain in the butt. Seems like a ford or chevy not toyota.

what turns off? The iPod, XM or the actual headunit of the stereo?

Most likely your over driving the input circuit of the auxilliary plug. Try turning down the volume on the ipod and using the radio volume for control. I haven't experianced this with my unit, so I'm just guessing that the aux. input has protection.
