Re: Cobra 75 WXST and Bandi Mount Install

Installed mine today, SWR was over 3 w the quick disconnect. I make sure all grounds are perfect: scraped a washer sized circle to the metal on the door hinge same size as the washer / scraped to the metal on the bottom inside of the mount the where the ring contacts the mount. Continuity checked fine. Had a reading of 1.9 on ch 1 and ch 40 after tuning and removing the quick disconnect from the equation. I have a few feet excess coax that is NOT coiled btw. I decreased the SWR by shortening the antenna by 3 inches (delete quick disconnect). Could I lower it further by shortening my coax a few inches???

Thanks,

Bobby

Its well worthy to be alive. This mod has been a mainstay for most of those installing a CB and thanks to your work, a "one-click" order on Walcott's site.

Glad to hear from you...
