Reasons for Dynamat?

For those of you installing Dynamat, what's the goal? Are you simply trying to make a better "room" for music, or are you also trying to keep road noise out?

Better Sound, Less vibration nosies, I think that is just gives it a more solid sound, no echos.

Re: Reasons for Dynamat?

Cuts down on vibration, the doors in the FJ have large open spaces that will suck the sound right out of quality components. It is worth the extra bucks to Dynamat where you can.

Re: Reasons for Dynamat?

Dynamat works good around the speaker plastic tabs to bring it out flush; the TacoTunes adaptors worked fantastic.

Re: Reasons for Dynamat?

I am going to use the really heavy duty stuff on the inside of the roof. Hopefully it will reinforce and insulate it a bit.

The roof is all I have left, it will take two people I think ?

It makes a world of difference I spent hours doing all the doors, I reached back on the sides behind the clam shell door, the difference in the amount of noise reduced is great.

If you do your roof soon post lots of pics.

Thanks

Re: Reasons for Dynamat?

Wow. The roof?

I have a lot more Dynamat Extreme than I thought. They show as optional on the dynamat website applying it to the INNER door - I think I'll do that also.

I don't know if it really does shtt to be honest, but it is really fun to install. I think it would make a lot more difference with a lighter door - the FJ door is pretty solid to begin with...

I did all the inner doors, when you knock on the outside of any of my doors it sounds solid not hollow sounds.
