Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions
I ordered one on 9/25 after hearing about the firmware. Received on Thursday 9/28 (nice). Installed on Saturday and have been frustrated ever since. It worked initally but once I turned the vehicle off it hasn't worked since.
The unit has only displayed the songs on the fjammer the first time. Since then no dice (pun intended). At times, when you turn off the vehicle and turn it back on it will not recognize the unit and doesn't give you the cd option. I'm placing a call this morning. Believe me, I want this thing to work but after tearing the dash apart about 7 times I'm a little upset. Especially since the day I ordered it I asked to make sure that the new firmware was installed to match Corey's success. Looking forward to making this work.

I’ve had similar issues (never did have text) but chalked it up to having the early firmware. I turn the truck off off with the stereo on and, the next time I start it up, the stereo will be off and the iPod adaptor will not be present. If I turn the truck off and then right back on again, it will be back (after hitting the Disc / Aux button).
I’m hoping this will be corrected as part of the new firmware … I’m really hoping you have the old firmware or I might be right back in the same boat again.

Did any of you turn off the FJammer then do a hard reset on the iPod?
I have not had one snafu with mine since the upgrade.
Hopefully this will work out.
I tried everything including hard reset, unplugged power to fjammer including hooking up a 3rd generation ipod (dice directions mention a possible problem with nano's). I'm hoping too, neat product if it works like yours

Yeah, tried everything. I can go a week with it being ok and then have it become a problem for the next three outings. I know I'm on the old firmware so I'm optimistic it will be fixed when I get the new version.
Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions
I'm having issues too and I just got mine last week Need to update my iPod to rule out operator error. Same problems that you guys are having and NOW the prev/next track toggles between play/pause Whould they have sent me an outdated dice unit? Why would they do that?
Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions
Also, confirm that you have the latest iPod firmware. It notes it in the DICE manual. I believe iTunes 7.0.1 can do it directly rather than running an updater. Granted I'm on a Mac, so I can't confirm for PC users.

Yup, next step is to ensure it's not operator error. I will pull the fuse and update/reset ipod tonight. Hope it works tomorrow. Leaving for 15 hour drive on wednesday and really want this to work

Just a quick update on my findings this morning. I called Dice and spoke with Mark then Adam.
First, if you listened to Corey and RJP you should keep the module in your glove box until you work through these issues. The correct module version (which is found on the sticker on the back) should end in 06. If not, you may have an older version of the firmware.
Second make sure that you have the toggles correctly. The car switch should be from (left to right) up position the second one down. The ipod switch should have both in the up postion. Make sure that you do a hard reset on your ipod (without the ipod plugged into the module). You should not have to unplug your stereo to complete this BTW.
After walking this through, my module appears to be bad. They're sending me a new one. Good luck.
