Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

Thanks for the write-up.

I will run my cable also into the glovebox, but run it out so I can keep the iPod in my custom holder in the cup holder.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

Big thanks to:
  • AceTechno - found this unit and pioneered the first install. I really just followed his process; many of his suggestions saved me a lot of time (e.g. disconnect power from the stereo)
  • Toyota – for making the head unit simple to access; I had to take half of the interior apart in my Acura to install a similar unit. Not only is it simple, there is so much room behind the dash you could store a small subcompact car back there.

I lost track - does the Dice plug into the CD changer port or XM?

Thanks for writing this up for not so tech-fabulous people like me
with the software update coming out this thing will be awesome! I only wish Apple actually sold them so I could get a discount

Yeah, seems to be a firmware issue right now; supposed to be fixed going forward. Lots of good information in this thread:

It plugs into the only port available. Either way, you access it on the head unit via CD1 rather than Sat

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

I had some time today while at work and I tried a bunch of different combinations in trying to get alphanumeric text on the Fjammer screen. Like holding down text and turning the radio on. Holing text and other button combinations. holding 2 or more buttons at same time and turning on radio. Nothing I tried seemed to work. No secrect code as of yet. Thought it was worth a try.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

Somewhat off-topic yet not worthy of its own is this unit we received today through Radio Shack for sticking in the cargo compartment or anywhere else there is 110. Probably been out for years; yet I've never owned an IPod or MP3 file for that matter either (I can't even seem to find a decent radio or anything else to plug it into; yet figure we've got to get into the 21st century one of these days....). http://www.bansheeaudio.com/
