Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

I thought the update only related to sound quality with a Sat receiver?

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

I think it did, but that alone may make a difference in how the software of each item communicates with each other.

Of course I am only throwing that out there for speculation.
I seem to one of the few that has had good luck with this unit.

However I am retiring mine early next year, going for the Alpine W200 head unit with the iPod interface.

But the DICE unit plugs into the Sat port, right?

Nope, into the CD changer port.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

So are you able to play CDs in the head unit player with a working DICE?

I don't know if my vehicle has the 'fixed' fjammer or not, but it has a pretty late build date - July.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

July 24 is when I picked mine up.

I have not tried to play a CD in it since putting in the DICE.
I will give it a shot and report back here later.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

I've had no problem using both the CD player and the DICE unit - just hit the CD button to toggle between them. As to the connection, I believer there is only one open connection on the back and I'm assuming it would also be used for a SAT system (just speculation on my part).

I personally don't think this is an issue with the Jammer but with the DICE unit itself.

Realllly? Well, if I could get the CD player to work as well, and the thing would connect consistently, that would be good enough to let me delay buying a new head unit till next year, when the next generation of GPS head units comes out, I think.

Okay, correction. I was able to get the head CD player to work with the iPod. I have to assume that my previous attempts were user error, but there may be some way to get it confused.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

I've found that you can always get access to CDs - the only two issues I have is: 1) when there is just no connection (radio is turned off when the car is started and 2) when you do get a connection but have no control (generally associated with the song index not moving forward).

I guess your experience may vary - be nice to have these two items fixed though.
