Whats wrong with useing the AUX input below the 12v plug?
Because the aux port sucks in comparison to the sound quality the DICE unit offers.

I have listened to it both ways, digital is better.

The DiCE unit does use the satellite radio plug.

The Dice wiring harness does have a couple of extra wiring ends (termination points) attached to it - no idea if it would work or not but they might allow for both a Sat connection and the iPod.

On the web page, the Neo Ion has a different part number if want use a Sat or external CD Changer in conjunction with the iPod adaptor.

The less than helpful instruction manual, included with the DICe unit, states" NOTE: -External CD/DVD changer or SAT module MUST be disconnected." However, the manual shows a photo of a "Sat radio/ MP3 player / DVD player" plugging into an "Aux" jack on the DICE unit while the iPOD is connected to the "8-pin Din" jack. So, I'm not sure if the "Note" part I quoted above means that the other players have to be disconnected, prior to installation and connected to the DICE unit, or if the other players have to be permanantly disconnected.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE THEIR DICE UNIT IN THE GLOVE BOX, OR WHERE IT'S EASILY ACCESSABLE, CAN YOU PLEASE CHECK AND LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL INPUT ON THE DICE UNIT? I'd do it but mine is installed behind the dash under the head unit.

Where's that DICE Rep. when you need him??

The only other input on the black box is an additional AUX input - can't say I've tried it but I assume it works (probably a poor assumption). As to the wiring harness, there are two unused connections; if you look at the original pictures at the start of this post, they are the connection ends without numbers beside them. No idea if they can be used or not.

Thought I would reference this associated thread for those looking at iPod integration adaptors:

VAIS – iPod Integration Review

Short version is that the VAIS unit works well although there are some functionality trade offs.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

Chalk up another Dice install that hardly works.
Got it all installed without a problem. Fired everything up, worked fine. Shut down the truck and came back the next day, no go.

The only way mine will work is if I turn the truck off, pull the iPod, hard reset the iPod, reconnect it, fire the truck up.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

I'm very dissapointed with what I'm hearing about these ipod intergration setups. Really considering aftermarket h/u. Would really prefer the stealthyness of the FJammer. Don't really like the trade off of the VAIS setup and the whole buggyness of the DICE would cause me to drive my truck off the nearest parking garage/cliff!!!

Anyone try any other integration kits??? USA spec etc...

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

Had the DICE installed since Mid November. Had Text early on, lost it. Had a few hang-ups like the DICE didn't exist. Unpluged IPOD, turned off Radio, Pulled fuse, re-inserted and back to normal, Minus the Text. May reinstall from scratch and relocate DICE unit to Sat. compartment.

This "attachment" to the"material world" will keep me in samsara.

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

Have there been any improvements in reliability of this unit in the last month?

Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions

Yes, I am now running the 3rd gen of it.
It seems to be very stable now.

I have been running it since the 5th of this month.
