Hello all...
Quick question - maybe I'm missing something, but why not just plug straight into the AUX jack in the center cluster?
You can if you dont care about things like ease of control from the steering wheel, sound quality, meta data text display, etc. The signal comming out of the headphone jack has an EQ curve designed into its headphone amp that makes the FJ sound system sound kind of muddy. And no since sending a amplified EQ siginal into a low level input, that only causes distrtion. Comming off the dock connector to the back of the head unit is the cleanest way to do it for sound quality and for ease of use. It is the perfered way. The analog output in the dock connector is non-EQ'ed or amplified and bypasses a lot of other electronics in the siginal path that will lead to sound degragation and helps to "Restore" the original recording or data transfer from CD to computer to iPod to Stereo. Hope this helps.

I'm new to this but won't this 3.5mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable do the same thing as far as sound quality? Product Description
The iPod Compatible 3.5mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable allows you to play music from your iPod through your home or car stereo, computer, or notebook. The dock connector sends line level audio out from your iPod, providing better sound quality then when using the headphone jack. The dock connector also allows you to control the volume of your iPod through your stereo or computer instead of having to adjust the volume on the iPod. The lightweight construction makes it easy to take it anywhere you go. Works with iPod Nano 1st Generation, iPod Nano 2nd Generation (aluminum), iPod with color display, iPod with video, iPod Nano 3rd Generation (aluminum), iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPod with click wheel, iPod 10GB, 15GB, 20GB, and iPod mini. Thinking about it a bit (late)...
Yeah, maybe, but what if you use something like what I am, a Monstercable adapter that plugs into the acc power port and into the iPod's bottom primary dock connector with an output for mini cable back to the aux audio input?
It would seem by your explanation that about all I really lose this way (perceptably) is visual confirmation of tracks and such on screen, rather than just looking at the iPod, and a bit of convenient controls. Sound however should be fine comparably I think - or at least quite close for only $30
Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions
I've had my FJ for about 6 days now and I haven't bought one of the Dock Connector to 3.5mm cables, but I was told by the salesman (I know.....) that with such a cable I would be able to control volume and tracks on my iPod from the stearing wheel and playlist jumping via the dash CD controls.... anyone have experience with that set up in the '08 with FJ-Jammer 6 CD changer?

Hello Rob,
I don't believe you can have any sort of control other than volume through the AUX jack, however hopefully another FJer can verify this as I'm not completely positive. A special AUX iPod-compatible cable and jack would be needed to allow this.

Does Dice offer a Mic with this kit as an option to add hands capability to the iphone??
Bobby
Hello Bobby,
We do not have a iPhone kit yet that allows for full integration, currently only the music is transferred through the audio system. We may have something like this later on, but way down the road from now.
Re: iPod connected directly to FJ Jammer - Installation Instructions
Sorry if this has been covered, but didn't have the patience to read 30 pages of posts
Does the DICE unit now correctly display tack information (name and/or artist and/or album)?
What control do you have over your iPod from the head unit (browse artist/playlist, or just forward and backward)?
Can you still control your iPod while it is connected to the DICE?
Thanks for the information.
