Question VIP alarm Prox senser

Does anyone have the factory VIP alarm with the prox senser and how do you turn it on and make it work? The indoor radar works and i know how to turn it on and off. But the outdoor prox senser does not.

Re: VIP alarm Prox senser

theres is no "outdoor" proximity sensor like old school alarms that would "chirp" if you got too close.

Interesting, since the literature makes direct refernce to a proximity sensor.

I did not get a manual for the alarm when I got the FJ- is there such a thing?

I have to agree with bayareabilly. I have dogs cats climbing all over the Fj when parked no alarms...Check the link below. THere is an instruction how to install use and test it and there is no reference made to anything that would trigger the alarm from outside.

Re: VIP alarm Prox senser

The night I bought mine, I barely touched the rear bumper and it started to chirp. Now I can hit it hard with my shoulder and it won't do anything. Go figure.

Re: VIP alarm Prox senser

This is an interior proximity sensor that comes with the VIP alarm. You would have to buy an aftermarket alarm to get an exterior proximity sensor.

The VIP sensor is for when you leave your windows down.
