speaker upgrades

ok my Z1 arrives next week along with my ipod, sirius and cam. I have not yet ordered speakers. Planning to do the two in the dash and the 6 x 9's but wondering if I should also do the rear pillar. Sub is also being uppgraded.

Would anyone care to make some suggestions. I am a rock fan and top 40 essentially. Prefer accurate sound reproduction over ear bleeding volumes. Is an Amp suggested for the sub or use the wattage from the Z1?

thanks

Re: speaker upgrades

If you're putting in a subwoofer there isn't a need to change the rear pillar speakers. The amp is needed to power the new head unit, upgraded speakers etc.

Re: speaker upgrades

Z1 has 50 watts of power for the 4 speakers. is that enough? and get a small amp for the sub

I always recomend the addition of an amplifier. It reduces the stress on the radio, and gives much cleaner sound all around. Radio's don't really have much power to speak of. They are usually rated at their full distorted power anyway and don't have the quality of components that dedicated amplifiers do.

A good speaker upgrade deserves a good amplifier to go with it. Of course this increases both the cost and the complexity of the install. But, when it's all done...YYYYYeeeeHHHHaaaawwww baby! The sound is so much bettter!
