Question Where to find 12 volts to tail lights

I am installing fog lights and would like them to be able to be switched on only when the tail lights are on. Does anyone know where I would find the 12 volt line to the taillights in the front of the vehicle?

You can tap to one of the front running lights (tailights also switched on when the front ones are on). Find the plug for the rfront unning/turning signal light (either driver's or passenger's side) and it should be the green wire. HTH.

same curiosity here....Is this front or rear fog light? If front there is plenty of 12 volt access If headlights are on the tail lights will come on so tap from head lights if rear just tap from tail lights...Not sure what you are trying to do...

Talking Re: Where to find 12 volts to tail lights

I am using a switch and a relay. I would like to find a 12 volt line in the cabin area so I only have to run 1 wire through the firewall from the top of the relay coil to the switch. I want the tail or parking light 12 volt line so I can also use the lights as driving lights without the headlights on.

Can you read wiring diagram? Click here and go to electrical section...It will tell you which color of wire to tap. Sorry I have not gotten that far yet...

Best way I've found is to find the fuse block for one that does what you want and tap it there.

Re: Where to find 12 volts to tail lights

I did a tap off the drivers side turn signal like ya'll suggested. I will post some photos later if you're interested. The lights are mounted in the tupperware bumper...
