BAHHHH Infinity Kappa Speakers Help!

Well thought I might try to save someone some troubles and give a small warning. I purchased 4 Infinity 3.5 speakers for the dash and rear pillars and 2 6x9's for the doors. Being stereo challeneged, I neglected to see that there is an external Crossover that must be installed with each speaker, regardless of amp or not.

I have no idea where or how I'll install these small boxes. If I figure something out I'll provide pictures for anyone who might encounter the same mistake. I've thought of using those plastic zip ties, I just hope theres room for the speaker and the small crossover boxes.

Re: BAHHHH Infinity Kappa Speakers Help!

if i read this right, you install the "box" inline to the positive (+) side of the speaker.

you use solder to do it! i spose you could crimp it some how, not sure how youd do it tho.

Re: BAHHHH Infinity Kappa Speakers Help!

Thanks, not to worried about how to wire, but I am concerned with where to mount or place the crossovers themselves?

Re: BAHHHH Infinity Kappa Speakers Help!

is it a lil cap or is a hide away box? back in my days it was a lil tiny cap that had to be soldered onto the positve lead to the speaker, then you taped it all up. im tempted to have you call me to explain it.

Wow that would be a great help. I could IM ya here. I see the transistor your talking about, but this is a small box, say 3.5 long by 1.5 wide by 1.0 thick that has the wires already hooked to it. Two go to the speaker wires and the other 4 wires connect to the speaker itself.

Re: BAHHHH Infinity Kappa Speakers Help!

UPDATE:

Ok, I've gotten around my little hiccup and if anyone else got the Infinity 3.5's with crossovers by accident never fear. There is plenty of room in the dash to mount them. I actually attached mine with two plastic zip ties around a small vent tube for air on each side which is accessible via the speaker openings.. There is plenty of room for the speaker and crossover unit. I paused to take some pictures of the install and pieces and will post them soon as my camera battery is charged. <--- lol ooops!
