Re: Connecting aftermarket sub to fatory radio

You can use the speaker leads that are used for the stock sub, put a high to low level adaptor that gives you rca's, put those rca's into an amp and the amp will drive your aftermarket sub.

I'm not sure that is what you are looking for, you may want to give some more info.

Re: Connecting aftermarket sub to fatory radio

i dont have the option FJ sub so what i plan to do is run the amp wiring kit myself and install a powerd sub (OMEGA) bazooka style sub. My question is how do i add the RCA plugs into the factory.

OMEGA? Not familiar with that brand. It should have "high level" speaker in though, and maybe even RCA type in.

If it does have "high level" speaker in, then you must run 2 speaker wires from the radio (rear channel would work fine) to the new sub. Connect these to your sub, along with power, ground, and turn on, and you are in business.

You can find the color codes here on this forum for the rear channels. You can also go directly to the rear speakers and tap off of them as well.

The cleaner way to do this would be to replace the factory radio with an aftermarket unit that offers RCA type out connectors. Then make sure your sub accepts RCA type connectors and you know the rest....
