What affect (if any) will this have on passenger airbag system on / off? I have 13y/o son who rides shotgun.

Thanks
none whatsoever, just a lot quieter when you have something else in the front seat!

1. Turn the ignition switch on (without starting car)
2. Press the ODO/TRIP switch until the odometer displays "ODO"
3. Turn the ignition switch off
4. Turn the ignition switch on
5. Press ODO/TRIP switch immediately (within 6 seconds after turning the power switch ON) and hold it down for 10 seconds or more.
6. Continue holding the ODO/TRIP switch and fasten the front passenger seat belt.
7. Check that the odometer displays either "b-on" or "b-off" (it will be "b-on")
8. Press the ODO/TRIP button to change the display to "b-off".
9. Turn the ignition switch off, to complete the process.
CHECK YOUR RESULTS
10. Turn the ignition switch on while depressing the brake pedal.
11. Check that no buzzer sounds when setting on the front passenger seat.

12. rinse, repeat
Ok I did this exactly. But adding the step of turning on the ignition switch while depressing the brake pedal did not cause the buzzer to not buzz.

The odo does set to "b-oFF" without difficulty.

I wonder if this is somehow because I have a MT6.

I tried turning it on while depressing the clutch, and while depressing the clutch AND brake, and it also still buzzes.

there is no difference between the A/T and M/T for this procedure. I did it on both, the way ROVERGGM gave it...

Thumbs up Re: No more seat belt DINGER

I just completed shutting down the seat belt buzzer. It was sooooo easy. Pg 103 of your owner's manual! Apparently you can deactivate each front seat individually if you want....too cool!

Thanks for the way helpful info.

Re: No more seat belt DINGER

OK
Well the procedure seems to have actuall worked, insofar as the persistent seatbelt remider buzzer that goes off if you actually drive off with the seatbelt not buckled, and that is cool, so thank you to everyone for pounding this in to me, particularly RoverGGM

However it still buzzes when I get in the car and turn the key on.

I will try to live with that.

If it still intolerable I may have to do the wire snip described in the key buzzer thread
Disabling key-in buzzer - install - pics

thanks again!

You can disable the seatbelt dinger which I found to be a PIA for short recovery operations when you are in and out of the vehicle alot.

1. turn key to on positon and togle the odometer to the reg mileage mode
with seat belt disconnected

2. hold odometer button in for about 10-12 sec and it will show b-on continue holding in and connect the seatbelt with your other hand .

3. toggle the odo button to b-off

4. Dissconnect seatbelt or turn off key to off to complete.

5. No more stinking buzzer!
Item #2: You have to connect the belt first before the b-on appears in my 2007 TRD edition.
