I was fine with my stereo/video upgrades in my FJ but on Thursday I'm having a directv satellite system installed in my truck. I was going to used that money on an engagement ring for my lady friend but I told myself I'll work on that later. I'll just concentrate on my final year in college. This audio/stereo thing has become an addiction! I'm not interested in rims, wheels or heavy duty bumpers. It's not bling, it's just stereo stuff. My mom has told me to snap out of it and move forward after this next and final upgrade or all funds will be denied indefinately. My photos are in the gallery here under fj1 and when I get my last install done I'll post the last pictures and leave the site for awhile. It's addictive, I'm talking about the site too! Wish me well!

Go Get Em Ron!!!! It certainly is Addicting & Expensive!! I just added some Boston Pro 6's behind the swing out doors where you have yours(Boston Z's in front doors & Tweeters in Dash,Sx's in rear pillars, 2 Boston Amps, MTX Sub) & now my system is Complete(ya Right!)
SuperBowl Party in Ron's F.J!!!
sounds like fun.!! I know the upgrade2 stereo is not what it could be but i gotta admit since i want to get more into the wheeling aspect that my money is gonna go to suspension and bumper upgrades first. cant wait to see your pics.
also going from the crappy stereo in a plain jane SR5 tundra access cab the jammer sounds pretty good, but ill get the audio bug soon enough.

I went overboard as well, seduced by all the information and audio enticements provided by other members of this forum. When I first got my FJ, I was as happy as could be with my factory HU and stock speakers, but then, one day I got into my vehicle and noticed that I had gone into an apparent trance, and installed a Pioneer AVIC-D2, replaced the dash and door speakers, and added an amp and rear view camera.
Coincidentally, there was about $3,200 missing from my checking account.

Obviously, you are still young, so have fun. You'll end up in one of two scenarios regarding your addiction to car audio gear -
1) Your fiance finds out that you felt spending money on a satellite TV system for your FJC (why - I'd rather look at my big screen on a reclining chair) is more important to you than her engagement ring, and marries you anyway - You are the man, and have a Great Lady for life.
OR
2) You spend a lot of time BY YOURSELF watching DirectV in the cramped lonely confines of your FJ Cruiser, wishing you had a wife, and a life....LOL
Good Luck to you...

You're probably right either way, the trip to Maui is paid, that's in January. I plan to ask her to marry me then, so I still have time to get the ring. I had planned to buy the ring sooner but I got sidetracked by the satellite TV for the FJ. I could watch TV at home also but sometimes I'm in my truck waiting for something and this way I don't miss certain games etc.
