Re: Over head flip down video player

You could use the 12" or 13" flip down video screen and if that 's too small for you. The 15" or 17" is available too. Because 7" or 8" screens maybe to small for a flip down.

Or you could use headrest ones because the FJ already is pretty visibility challenged..

Re: Over head flip down video player

I dont see why you need one, other than bling factor. i have a fold out 7 inch and its very visable from the rear seats! If you go to big, it wont be fun to watch becasue its just that , to big.

Re: Over head flip down video player

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anyone out there that has posted any details about putting an overhead DVD player in the FJ. I have been hesitant to try due to the roof speakers. I also worry about the screen interfering with an already small rear view out the back window. As some have suggested, this does seem to be a better alternative to the headrest DVD monitors (too close to watch comfortably and makes an easy target for thieves).

Hopefully someone who's done this will post their experience alone with model numbers and pictures.

Hopefully, I'll post my photos at the end of the week. I already have a rear view camera in my FJ, so a 10" flip down screen should be a good size to view movies and Directv programming. Friday my FJ is having Directv satellite installed with a 10" overhead flip down moniter with wireless headphones plus there is a light on it . I basically have the rear camera on all of the time, while I'm driving so I no longer have blindspots, it's GREAT! My upgrades aren't bling, it's more convenience to me.

$2,100 with a roof rack that includes install and $5 extra added to your directv monthly bill from home, if you don't have directv at home already it's $45 a month from directv. If you don't have a roof rack it's 2,600 that includes install. The satellie size is a little larger than a sheet of paper that comes out of your printer and it's about 5" thick, there is also a reciever which is the size of a small notebook which could go under the seat or in the glove box either one and a remote which works and doesn't need to be pointed in any certain direction. You'll get the same channels that you get at home. Go to kvh.com . It's called trac vision a7 and the package from directv is called total choice mobile with local channels 1-800-769-4635

Re: Over head flip down video player

Ron,
The spec on their web site shows the size to be 32.3" (l) x 31" (w) x 5.3" (h).
Did you see the other model the A7?
