Kayak Solutions

I've had a couple guys send me pictures of different cool Kayak setups that they've done on their FJs.

JCcruiser had already made a custom Yakima setup, but it broke under the stress of the Kayaks. The stornco parts he replaced them with are low profile and much more solid.

Here's the original setup:

For the stornco setup, he used 3 crossbars. The kayaks were on cradles, so they cleared the middle bar. Then JCcruiser tweaked a yakima basket to fit between the front and middle bars. PRETTY BOSS!!

Looks perfect!

Two Kayaks, a gear basket, and a bike. Sweet!

And here's the man, himself. Thanks, Jon!

Re: Kayak Solutions

These are FJ Crawler's Boss Yakima Racks. He used 66" crossbars instead of the recommended 58" crossbars so he could fit 2 side Kayaks side-by-side. He's stoked on this setup!

Re: Kayak Solutions

Would you consider selling just two adapters? I'm thinking about doing a conversion of my factory rack to the "mini-me" model and adding the yakima crossbar to the front? I use the rack mostly for kayak transport and, for me I think that will be the best fit for form and function. Thanks.

Re: Kayak Solutions

Yeah Pit - I'd be happy to. I'll add that option to my website and PM you with a link to order it tonight.
