OME 883 springs, NOT for FJ Cruisers?!

I'd appreciate a definitive, first hand confirmation that the OME 883 springs are a good choice (if not the best) for raising the FJ front end (leveling).
The issue is I tried to order the OME 883s from Wheeler's Off Road, and they questioned the order, saying the 883s are not commonly used on the FJ...??
Thanks, gang.

ToyTec lists the 883 as a 1.5" front lift on the FJ...

OME 883 springs, NOT for FJ Cruisers?!

I don't see why not. Plenty of people have used them.

Can call OME directly to confirm, but you should be fine. I always heard it was the heavy ones that they did not recommend for the FJC due to over extending the shock.

Re: OME 883 springs, NOT for FJ Cruisers?!

Back in the day when this forum was still pretty young the 883 was considered THE "leveling lift". 883s are fine for the FJ as long as you are leaving your oem bumper in place. If you plan a steel bumper or winch you should consider a heavier spring.

Re: OME 883 springs, NOT for FJ Cruisers?!

So are the 883's considered the "medium springs"?

The OME specs on the Kit light duty contain front springs 884. Any info on the lift this would generate on OME coilovers?

OME 883 springs, NOT for FJ Cruisers?!

I have 884s right now. I am pretty sure they are the light duty ones. They lift the front end 2"

Re: OME 883 springs, NOT for FJ Cruisers?!

Do they even make the 883 anymore? I remember when the numbers went away and the springs became "medium's" and "heavies". I know we still discuss them with number designations but does OME still do it?
