A few weeks back, I noticed a stain on my garage floor under my front left wheel. Silly me, I just assumed it was from rain/snow/salt. Well, today, I changed my oil & filter. When under the FJ, I noticed some type of slippery fluid on my front left spring/A-arm area as well as around/under the front wheel. Have any of you guys had shocks/struts leak? My FJ only has 19,916 miles on it. Any input would be appreciated.
Gas charged shocks have just as much oil in them as "non-gas-charged" shocks. The oil is what performs the shock-absorption function ("damping") as it is forced back and forth through small holes in the shock's valving system.
All shocks do is absorb energy from suspension motion, and convert it into heat.
The gas pressurization is just to reduce foaming of the oil, so the damping characteristics stay more or less constant.
Cleaned it with brake cleaner, drove it, & then dropped it off at dealership. Will know this afternoon exactly what it is.... Will post up. And, I thank you guys for your input!

I've never had one go bad on me in that manner..... 3 FJ's, 5 Jeeps (JK, LJ, YJ, CJ5's) :|
