Now that the FJ suspension / lift kits (Allpro, Revtek,Donahoe, OME, Toytec, etc) have been out for several months and many members have gotten them installed, I was wondering if anyone has taken RTI (Ramp Travel Index) numbers on their FJ to see how much (if any) improvement the lift kit has provided over the Stock RTI of 515 (verified by Granger).

Re: Looking for RTI Scores for various Suspension Kits

Great question and valued information. Let's hope that some FJ owners have the time and dedication to perform the test. I'm planning on putting an OME kit on mine but may wait a bit to see if any numbers get posted which may show one system or another a better performer than the others.

Thanks for the question, I'm looking forward to some feedback.

Yeah thanks Granger,
515 is a good starting point for the FJ with 275/70/17s tires
I wonder how much more flex we can get if the swaybar is disconnected - RTI> 600?

Your limitation is the IFS (with or without the sway bar).

Re: Looking for RTI Scores for various Suspension Kits

I just replaced the rear springs on my FJ (OME 896's to ToyTec's) and the guy that did the swap-out had a ramp outside his shop. He ran it up the ramp to see how high it would make it before the rear wheel came off the ground. We didn't do an index measurement, but it did make me realize that anything larger than a 33" tire (I've got 285's) would have a major problem clearing the wheel well when the suspension is compressed to that extent. There just wasn't much room left at all.

Re: Looking for RTI Scores for various Suspension Kits

Here is some pictures. Don't have a score though. We used this ramp at a offroad shop that was closed. If I can get back over there I will try to get a score. This is a with a toytec/OME w/895 rear coil lift and 285's. I know have toytec's custom rear coils.

That is actually in total stock form, including tires (265/70R17). I had my 1 week old FJC at a Land Cruiser event back in early April and they had the ramp.
