Future plans for a winch / bumper..do I go with Donahoe or All-Pro NOW?

With a tremendous amount of help from this forum, I have narrowed down my front lift choices to either Donahoe coil overs or All-Pro with remote reservoirs. The key selling points for me are the great reviews, customer service stories and most importantly, the adjustability. Here's why:

The budget is only allowing for a lift and tires right now, but when the 2nd round of funding comes through, I will be adding an All-Pro bumper and Warn winch (and all the weight associated with that). From my understanding, both options will allow me to adjust the settings to account for the additional weight with a turn of the spanner. I have ruled out the OME for this application because I don't want to drive on heavy 886 springs without a winch / bumper yet installed.

My question:
Is their a compelling reason to choose Danahoe over All-Pro or vice-versa, given ONLY the context of my future winch / bumper install? Or will both accomplish the task and the decision comes down to preference?

Thank you for your opinions and assistance!

Re: Future plans for a winch / bumper..do I go with Donahoe or All-Pro NOW?

My experience with All-Pro has been VERY mixed. I ordered the same supsension system you want with promises that it would go out the same day. Call me a skeptic but I called the following day to ensure that it had infact been sent out. A week went by with nothing showing up so I called and spoke with the guy who promised to call me right back with tracking numbers - no call back. I call and speak with another person who tells me that they are all backed up and it will be at least another week before they can get to it...

After 5 weeks and about 10 calls from me to them and about a dozen lies from them, I received my final box of back ordered parts.

Send it to the shop for installation only to find out that they sent me the wrong parts and the installer could not complete the job. Took multiple days to get that cleared up. It took 6 weeks from order place to completed order delivered.

HOWEVER - once installed, I have run the crap out of that suspension and I absolutely love it. Better on and off road ride and control.

My advice is avoid the All Pro if you are in a hurry. The product is great but the service is... well you decide.

This being your actual question: No

They are both adjustable and can handle the extra weight of a bumper/winch.

Dave, I am sympathic to your frustration with the lack of service you received from us. I cannot speak of your particular instance because I am not familiar with it, but I can tell you that it is not acceptable and will be looked into. Its our goal to provide all of our customers with outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, as a business we understand that not everyone is going to be happy. Whether its something backordered, or a call not returned. Regardless of what happens we always try to make sure that the customer is taken care of. So, I appoligize for your rather unfortunate experience.

FWIW, we have become increasingly overhwelmed because of the popularity of our FJ Cruiser kit, and its because of the way it performs as you mentioned. As wonderful as that is, its also a double edged sword. Because of that demand, we also sometimes get back ordered on parts from our manufacturers and it delays the shipping of our orders. Jon has been working relentlessly to try to get a handle on our backorders to make sure that parts are being shipped in a timely manner. In fact, he has a meeting on Monday with our main supplier of parts for this kit to make sure that we are able to meet the needs of our customers when they place the order itself.

Again Dave, I appoligoze for your experience. I hope you will continue to look to us to meet your needs for your Cruiser. Feel free to call me directly if need be if you have concerns or needs before ordering, and I will make sure I handle them personally. 951-658-7077
