Everyone here should be familiar with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and how warranties are voided. The burden of proof is on the manufacturer to show a direct correlation between the modifications made and the warranty issue. Granted, the frame can be blamed for a lot, but the burden of proof is on them. Could it be a painful process? Yes. Does the right thing always happen? No. But you saying it will void a warranty is just just as wrong as them saying it.

BTW, nothing gets welded in, it's a bolt on, and is actually reversible if you do the installation right. I know several disappointed owners that welded the crossmember back in and uninstalled it.
If you win, you probably spent more money on your lawyer, than you would have just having it fixed. Not to mention the years added because of stress.
Seen it happen, many times. Our court system sucks.

Well, I guess you could always quit instead of try...

Sometimes it's important to fight for principle instead of simply money.

However, for it to get to that point, one would have exhausted arbitration, and set one's self up for compensatory damages including recovery of accumulated legal fees.

I hear your frustration though...
