JUST had D hoes installed with UCA (also Donahoe), lost a CV boot on the way home.. Anyone else have a shorter time frame to loss? Expected, but disappointed it happened so quickly. Installed at a shop, not a DIY job.

What shop?
You should NOT expect failure with the hoes CO's or UCA's. There's nothing they designed into the product that should cause a CV failure, especially not on a regular road.
I'd blame the shop for that one, or prior damage. Unless you were on a bumpy road getting airborne, you wouldn't have even come close to cycling your system to failure.
Need more info:
Did the boot tear? Did it come unseated? Was your CV damaged at all? How did you notice that it failed?
i would bet the boot was damaged during install. Did you inspect their work before driving away? Boots just don't fall off unless the cv axle is disconnected or unless the boot is ripped apart and falls off the axle.
Anyway that sucks! Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Didnt see any major damage to boot, just leaking on ground, around entire boot and wheel well (thought it was a brake line at first.) Took it into a Toyota dealer for inspection. Sent pics to shop, waiting to hear back from both till them (going to hold off on posting.)
FYI I didn't install, and used the new Donahoe UCA.
Oh, BTW the Caster was off by over 1.3% both sides and camber was off by about 0.5%. So get it aligned!!!!

Well, we (we being me and Reggie [Toyotatech1]) attempted to install my Donahoe UCA's tonight and gave it up. He's going to call Donahoe tomorrow and inquire how to proceed (they came with no instructions whatsoever). It appeared that to even come close to getting them installed was going to necessitate moving the CV's way out of their normal position, but I'm not the mechanic so I'm merely speculating. I'll know more tomorrow after Reggie talks to Donahoe and then post back with what he finds out. With as much trouble as we had trying to figure out how to proceed, if your guys went ahead (and didn't have any instructions either) it's entirely possible that they hosed the CV's during the installation. It may not be all their fault though, from what I saw tonight during our attempt. Some of the fault may be Donahoe's.

Email Jason Demello if Donahoe doesn't get back to you. He installed his a while ago. I seriously doubt you have to do anything too serious to the CV's to get them in there. There must be some not so obvious trick to the install.
Also, to the OP, make sure the shop you took it to pays any costs associated with the dealer fix.
