Re: What lift for MT 33x12.50x20's?

Ol SEMA pic is 33"s on 20s and second is 35" on 20"s. Both mock ups but scaled... This was the direction I was going... You have to go 20"x10" in order to get a 4.5" back spacing... Both 3" lift..

Re: What lift for MT 33x12.50x20's?

I was thinking of doing 20" moto metal 951's for my FJ. Do I need to do a camber kit if I install a lift kit on it? At what point will I have to (if any) 2", 3" ???

Re: What lift for MT 33x12.50x20's?

Thanks Savvyav for the excellent info. The salesman recommended I put spacers on the 20X8.5's to clear the .5 inch squeeze. I won't put a spacer in because I am trying to prevent the tires from extending out. What will I hit if I install the 8.5's? If it isn't catastrophic I would probably grind or cut the vehicle part to fit. Thanks again for the help!!!

Re: What lift for MT 33x12.50x20's?

you are stuck with 5.25 off set for that wheel in the 8.5 width. You won't be any wider of a track using a spacer to gain back the lost off set (being 8.5" wide) you'll just be using a spacer, on an alloy wheel (not as much "bouce" back as steel) and 20" wheel (another click toward loss of "give" with less tire, more wheel)

Also, my thought here, the tire you'd use being 12.5" wide on a 10" wide wheel (with proper built in off set) you'd only come closer to matching width of tire, not extending it further....

Re: What lift for MT 33x12.50x20's?

Thanks Savvyav, was told that the 10" has a wider outside set than the 8.5". Not apples for apples. Just don't want it to look like an inverted Mickey Mouse. Thanks.

Re: What lift for MT 33x12.50x20's?

I gottcha. Look up "rockcrawler", he has 10" wide wheels and you'll see what i mean, no that bad. B'sides the 8.5" wide has the 5.25" off set which makes it wider by and 1.5" anyhow (you just save for some space on the back siiide
