Another All Pro lift Install

Another All Pro lift Install

The begining

Disconnect the ABS and brake line mounts

Disconnect the ABS and brake line mounts

Pull the cotter pin.

Disconnect the ABS and brake line mounts

Loosen the UCA nut until you have about 1/16" gap between the nut and UCA and then beat with a hammer until it drops.

This is what it looks like once it drops.

Use a jack to support the works.

Lower the jack until everything pulls free.

Remove the three nuts that hold coild over to the mounting point.

Remove lower shock nut and tap the bolt out.

With out removing the sway bar mount, I couldn't remove the shock.

Remove the the nut and tap out the sway bar link from it's mounting point.

Remove the two bolts that hold the sway bar to the frame. Now I could move it enough to remove the coil over. I later found that this was a waste of time! If you grab the upper part of the shock and push down, I think I could have cleared the upper mount and pulled the shock out.

Make sure the reservoir line goes between the shock tower and the UCA.

I had to push down on the rotor at the same time I slid the bolt and spacers into the lower coil over mount.

I adjusted the ring so I had 2 3/4" between the adjustment ring and the top thread.

Now time for the back half. Support the rear axle with a jack and remove the lower shock bolt.

Remove both sway arm bolts to allow the axle to drop farther down.

Remove both sway arm bolts to allow the axle to drop farther.
Remove all emergency brake line attachments.
I installed All Pro lower control arms as well. These bolts were put on to stay on! I had a very hard time getting these babies loose!

I also had a difficult time getting the upper shock nut loose! I used a small Crescent wrench to hold the top off the bolt while turning the nut with a 14mm wrench. Very tough!

Remove all emergency brake line attachments

The difference in the All Pro and stock lengths

The day after.

Re: Another All Pro lift Install

Very Nice. I'm curious. How much $ for the entire kit? I see a 3 inch lift in my future. Great job documenting!

All Pro got me for ~$2800. This included the following. Front adjustable coil overs with adjustable gas reservoir shocks, rear lower control arms, Walker Evens rear adjustable gas reservoir shocks, All Pro rear springs (for the lift) and last but not least, All Pro front bumper with large light bar (not installed yet because I haven't received it yet!)
