You guys liking the suspension?
Ride as butter smooth as stock?
Actually, yea it is! Kinda too soft on the softest setting. Especially on the freeway. It feels like riding in a car with a dead suspension. You know when it keeps bouncing about two three times when you go over a dip. Only use that setting when I go off-roading. Mines is set about 6 clicks front and rear on a daily basis. Never had a problem with em' My only beef is the upper control arm, I need to constantly (about once a month) lube that ball joint looking thingy! Kinda wish they put a zerk fitting on it so it would be alot easier to lube em. But other than that, THIS IS THE BEST SUSPENSION I EVER HAD! No kidding! Ridden my friends 06 Tacoma with the Hoes. Even that one was good. Nothing wrong with em also. His only problem was the rear leaf spring. He never got the lift using the signature series springs. When on his truck the springs were basically horizontal never gave him the lift he wanted. (we no mo leaf springs hahaha) Oh yea I get 14 clicks soft to firm. front and back.
Re: How many clicks can you get on the AllPro reservoir suspensions?
The Walker Evans Racing (WER) shocks can have as many as 18-19 clicks available, but at 15 clicks the valve is fully closed & rides like a pogo stick. Most people tend to not use more than 10-12 because at that point its getting stiff. Personally I run mine at 6 rear, 8 front. Jon, the owner, prefers 4 rear and 6 front for a smoother ride - to me driving his FJ at that setting is like piloting a marshmallow. Thats the beautiful thing, same truck, same weight, and 2 clicks apart we can tell the difference and enjoy our trucks and dislike each others - WITH THE SAME EXACT SHOCKS.
The Kings are great quality, but uber-expensive, and overkill for most drivers requirements - like buying a Ferrari to daily commute in stop-and-go traffic during rush hour, fantastic potential that will never be realized.
The WER shocks are the best value for the money - but stay tuned to our forum in the next couple of weeks for a new announcement that will set the new standard in FJ shock supremacy! Those attending the FJ Summit will be the first to get a sneak peek if you cant stand the wait...

Awwwwww cr@p! What else do you guys have coming out! I already had to get a second job to support my expensive hobby just to get stuff for my FJ. Plus I can't go to the summit cause I live on a little rock in the middle of the pacific. Oh well, can't wait to see what it is. Cause i'm prob. gonna convince myself that i need it.
Is it gonna be bypass shocks? How bout long suspension travel.......cmon can't wait.

Every time I think I've just about made up my mind what to do for a suspension upgrade, I read something that gives me second (or by now about 8th) thoughts. Here we go again!
I guess the good news is at least I haven't already committed, so I can afford to wait a few more weeks.

Cnynrat, I was like you couldn't make of my mind on a suspension upgrade
until reserached King Shocks..these Guys will valve the shocks for the way your Fj is going to be set up..talk to Mike King he will tell what he can do
I had them valve the front for 3" lift and for the weight of the front bumper
(all Pro) and winch..Mike even valved the shocks for each corner of the FJ
now I have only had them on for 2 days but I can say I am way impressed
I talked to Tcao before I bought mine..he has had his for 6 months..I can
say this for sure..King Shocks will impress you right out of the box and there
very easy to install..the instructions are straight forward..I am no Mechcanic
either by a long shot,,the only problem I run into is that the all pro front skid Plate does not fit properly with the Kings
Re: How many clicks can you get on the AllPro reservoir suspensions?
goin' off topic: I'm glad you like the King shocks so far. the All Pro IFS skid plate has the most clearance so it hugs the front of the FJC very tightly; unless, All Pro has changed the design, you'll need to use spacers between the skid plate and the frame for the two front bolts to clear the sway bar. The Budbuilt front skid plate have slots for the front bolts and it barely fits with my front King coilover. Enjoy (see you in Ouray?).
back to regularly-scheduled program.

Yep your right sorry didn't mean to hijack this thread...but you mentioned spacers for the front part of the skid, any suggestions for the material for the spacers??
