3 in. Lift ?

If you do a 3 inch lift do you have to put different shocks or can you keep the stock shocks.

Re: 3 in. Lift ?

Some folks here have put OME springs with the stock shocks. It's not quite 3" though, maybe a little less.

Re: 3 in. Lift ?

The lift is mostly for looks rather then off roading. I was thinking of just putting rear shocks. What do you think?

Re: 3 in. Lift ?

if you use heavy duty springs you will need to change the front, you do not need to change the back with them though. if you use light or medium you can keep front and rear stocks but you will need a spacer for the front to level it.

Re: 3 in. Lift ?

Lifting without changing shocks will cause your shocks top out when hitting even small bumps-OME shipped the wrong shocks, so I ran heavy springs with OE shocks and had them top out a ton until the correct shocks arrived and were changed.

Re: 3 in. Lift ?

Good to know, so is it bad to have a spacer lift (3 in) and stock springs and shocks?
