Cool Oem 2008 Suspension

Got a question, just bought a 2008 FJ with the off-road package and it says that it comes with "BILSTINE TRAIL RATED SHOCKS" these are good shocks right (I know there not as good as coil-overs, but they have to be better than toyotas) so when I lift will these should be sufficent enough? I plan to only do a 3" lift . . .

Re: Oem 2008 Suspension

Im in the same situation as you. Some advice would def help. Are you only doing a front 3in lift to even out the rake or all 4 corners?

Re: Oem 2008 Suspension

They are coil overs, in the front anyway. Every FJ has front coil overs.

Bilstein are the shocks. Bilstein are good quality, they will suffice if you plan to just get a leveling kit for the front.

If you plan to go higher, you might want to change out the shocks...

Re: Oem 2008 Suspension

If you do a 3" lift, you will need to replace the stock shocks. They aren't long enough to support a 3" lift. Now spacers will work for you, and will let you keep your stock suspension, but it will make your ride worse.
