Which rear shocks with an OME lift?

I have approached several vendors with what I thought was my perfectly researched lift:
Front, OME885 medium front coils with N1405 shocks (w/Toytek leveling spacer).
Rear, OME895 medium rear springs with N71 shocks.

My understanding is that the standard rear N141's limited articulation, and the
answer was to use the N71's. Now I have been told the N71's are not recommended for the FJ.

I have always disliked spacer lifts, and do not want to mix vendors equiptment (ie, Toytek rear springs).

Is anyone running the N71's with the OME springs? are you happy with it?

Thanks!

Re: Which rear shocks with an OME lift?

Toytek wants to use the N71 shocks with their rear springs.

I just like the idea of a well thought out suspension SYSTEM, with a single manufacturer for all of the components. I have rarely liked the results of a "mixed bag of parts" approach to wheeling suspensions.

If someone has this setup, for better or worse I would like to hear about it.

That was my orginal idea as well...but group buy time came and i couldn't resist :-). To be honest i like the setup it rides pretty nicely on the street and handles offroad very well.

The OME 141's are not much longer than stock which limit articulation. When changing out to longer than stock coils (895's are about 2" longer) you need to add longer shocks. Since my FJ is my only ride I switched from the 895's to Toytecs coils. I did not like the stiff ride of the 895's. It felt the same as when I added a HD add-a-leaf to my Tacoma. Gave it lift but lost the nice smooth ride. Toytecs coils are also longer than the 895's which add even more articulation.

Only reason I am switching is to have all the same suspension setup. I have the donahoe UCAs/coilovers so I wanna switch out the rear. I only got the OME in rear b/c donahoe didnt have a rear setup when I changed out the suspension.
