What 3" lift to pick

I was leaning towards the 3" Rough Country. Is this my best bet for my money? I had a shop here in BC,Canada quote me almost $600 for the Daystar and installation. Way to much when I can order online for less than 200. I do mostly clity driving but want to start off roading a little.
I also really like the look of the Nitto mud grapplers. Are these still good for city and highway driving in the rain and snow? will they fit with the 3" rough country lift on stock rims? I want to go with 33x12.50 r17.
Any thougts and opinios would be greatly appreciated

Re: What 3" lift to pick

if you are just off roading a little you might wait and see what the rig can do stock, which is quite a bit (but maybe you are after looks too and what not...)

Re: What 3" lift to pick

if you arent really interested in offroad performance a spacer lift is usually the cheapest way to go. the RC lift is a combo front spacer rear spring lift. if you're looking for somthing that is stout and more preformance oriented the OME kits are pretty highly regarded.

Re: What 3" lift to pick

I'm looking at a trailmaster lift in toyota performance for 170.00 or 161.00 online. sounds easy to install, also I talked to all pro offroad about their black fj in their add. I like it's stance. It has a 3" lift with 17x8.5 walkerevans wheels with 3.75in back spacing and 35in tires, just need to cut the bodymounts. the owners friend told me the tires didn't change his gas mileage at all and he's using factory gears.

Sounds like they're just using simple spacers, front and rear, for the lifting (according to the prices you specified).

As far as the tires not changing the MPG, don't bet on it. Larger tires (especially M/T tires) will affect your mileage...

Re: What 3" lift to pick

I'm having the same problem tying to decide whether I can get away with just getting the Trailmaster because i do want to do some moderate wheelin and I don't know if a simple spacer lift will take the strain then theres the Rough Country 3" which is a step up but I have the same concern and wonder if it could support a aftermarket bumper and winch last there's of course the ome medium but i dont want to pay for the shocks.

Go with a brand that specializes more in Toyota stuff. Like OME. Call the wheelersoffroad.com for info, they are very helpful. Plus a friend of my in BC ordered from them and said they took care of the brokerage stuff so that the parts just arrived at the door with out him having to do anything extra.
