OME suspension trade

I'm currently running the heavy coils in the front and they are too stiff for my Road Armor/Winch combo. Is there anyone in the northwest who is interested is swapping a set of heavies for a set of mediums? I have about 10,000 miles on them.

They are actually too stiff with all that weight?

I was wanting a bumper and winch but I was afraid my mediums wouldn't handle the weight. Maybe they will.

I was just worried about sagging.

Since yours is 2wd just like me, I'm pretty sure that adding a bumper to the medium springs will be fine. I put on an ARB bumper along with 883's about 6 months ago and haven't seen any sagging.

Good to know, thanks!

I forgot all about the weight difference of the 2wd.

If you don't get any responses, I've got a set of 885's I would sell pretty cheap...

Re: OME suspention trade

i'm glad to see this since i opted for the 885's thinking the 886's were going to be too stiff.

Re: OME suspension trade

When I ordered my spring I was thinking that the bumper would be considerably heavier than it is. The Road Armor ended up being fairly light compaired to some of the other bumpers out there.

For people trying to decide which springs to go with I would make certain that you know what the weight change is going to be before you order them.

Hope this doesn't sound dorky but I'm really curious about why one would modify a 2WD. Is it for off-roading?

Re: OME suspension trade

From what I understand, for Baja style off-roading, 2WD is more desirable than 4WD. Sure for muddin', rock crawlin and loose sand/snow, you would prefer a 4WD, but for hard pack and high speed, I have heard 2WD is the way to go.

In fact, aren't a lot of the Baja 1000 racers running 2WD? Or at least it has it's own class.

I never thought of that, Ya any desert type fast speed where traction doesn't matter and suspension is everything. Must be a lot of guys on this forum doing Baja.
