Front Diff' 1" Drop kit...

Has anyone done this yet (front diff' 1" drop) ?...

I know It's "NOT NEEDED" on the FJ, unless you
have too much lift, then you might want to drop
the front diff' a tad to correct the CV angle...
This has been used on the Taco's for years...

Anyway... Anyone ?
What did you use ?
From who ?

Re: Front Diff' 1" Drop kit...

I currently have the Walker Evans Coil overs,
with the All-Pro Upper Control Arms, and no
skids currently...

I am prolly little over on my height, but I like
it, but what I am getting, is the inner CV's
are leaking a little grease around the ends...
Since it is on both side, I can only contribute
this to the height...

I would have thought that my outer CV's
would have had an issue first before the rears,
but I guess not... Need to get the limiting
straps installed too...

Re: Front Diff' 1" Drop kit...

Are you're leaks coming from the boot itself or where the cv comes out from the front diff? Reason I ask was because I had leaks both sides too but coming from the diff and they were replaced under warranty. The diff seals had failed. Not neccesarily caused by DR's I have up front.

They are seeping from the boots themselves, from
where the clamps are on both ends, nothing
massive yet, but enough to make me need to
do a change somewhere, either lower the front
lift a hair, or drop the diff a hair... My diff seals
are fine...

Re: Front Diff' 1" Drop kit...

Oh hey leroy, looks like you already had this going! =) Have you done it yet? I'm curious what before and after shots look like. If I can do a diff drop and leave about 2.75 inches of front lift and make sure my droop isn't way past stock, I might have a cure to my little diff seal problem. I'm willing to sacrafice some lift for longevity of the boots/cvs/seals.
