Airlift airbags...Will 4runner kit work for the FJ?

I'm looking at getting some airbags for the FJto help it out with some towing duties. Airlift doesn't make an FJ specific kit (or anyone for that matter) but they do have a 4 Runner kit avaible. I was wondering since the FJ and 4 Runner are basicly the same thing, if it would work, or if anyone has already tried this. here the system from airlift..

Air Lift Company
This is not the 4 Runner kit, just the system it incorperates.

I'd be curious what the answer is. I had a set of these on a windstar at it was amazing how well they worked. Could really load it up w/ no sag & no loss of handling. Gave a lot of flexibility, able to tune the suspension to meet the needs of the moment.

This thread should answer your question: Simple Towing Suspension Mod (Air Springs)
I ordered the same kit listed in the above thread and haven't installed it yet, but it sounds like it will work fine.

Thanks! Stupid me was told that the closest kit they had was an a 4 Runner kit. Should haved one my own research. Thanks for the info. Did you get the bags and Compessor, or just the bags? Doesn't look like they sell a kit with a compressor and bags through airlift.

Re: Airlift airbags...Will 4runner kit work for the FJ?

When I put my 3" lift on the front sits higher than the rear and when loading gear I can feel a severe degradation in handling. I was actually thinking of an additional spacer in the rear to give a slight rake back hopefully compensating for any additional weight.(the air spring is about half as much as the stupid little spacer) I stumbled upon this thread and it sounds like a great idea. It does make a lot of sense to have a soft coil and the air ride spring instead of just a super stiff coil. I looked and they carry these at summit racing along with pictorial instructions. I wonder if leaving one or two extra inches on the bump stop will work with the longer toytec springs? I also wonder how it will work off road ie. articulation and high speed woops? Does anyone have any input on this?
