thinking of going from my 3" to 6" but dont really know if one is better that the other. looks like the R/C is totaly bolt-on, were as the Fabtech might need some cutting and welding. not really intrested in doing that unless its what sets it above the R/C....
anyone with either, here is your chance for a little wholesome spar match (keep it clean).
also is this going to limit the ability for a front bumper and skid plating (i think the R/C comes with some)?

thanks in advance....
I just bought the RC lift but haven't yet installed it. But to answer your questons about the skid plate and the bumper.. I am running the FabFours bumper and so is RC so I would guess since it is the heaviest bumper out there, then you should be able to put any aftermarket bumper on.. Bud of Budbuilt is working on a skid system (from what I have heard) for the RC... So if you can get a budbuilt for this lift, the debate is over!
The RC is a better kit. The guys at RC are fantastic to work with. I bought my Wheels & Tires while touring the RC headquarters in Dyersberg, TN.
What experence do you have with the Fabtech lift that allows you to make that statment? I can't find anyone in So Cal that will even install an RC lift. I think they had bad experence in the past. The current lift looks good, and many here like them, but how can you say it's 'better' than Fabtech?
RC is a basic lift kit which use your stock front struts and huge spacers. It also doesn't have support brackets as Fabtech.
Of those 2 I'd recommend to go with Fabtech lift and Fabtech coilovers. Ride is mcuh better and it handles like a sport car in corners. The other option will be ProComp, but there you're limited to use 18" rims and their crossmember takes allot of ground clearance out while in Fabtech you still use 17" rims and crossmember looks like an arc. Another benefit is that Fabtech has a diff skid plate in the kit. My friend has ProComp and he aslo experience troubles with swaybar end links.

My 2c. I saw F150 with broken RC lift because of the luck of those additional supports which offered in Fabtech. I 've also talked to several off-road clubs in my area and I can't say that RC will be better lift in long term.
i remember a while back Xtreme 4X4 (tele show) put a fabtech on a FJ, they didnt mention any other kit. could have been before the R/C but im thinking i might send them an email for maybe a revisit about the R/C comparison...
yup ALEX i like the ideal that Fabtech includes the replacemnt parts (surely the price goes up), and id be really upset if the stock parts broke due to R/C equipment after a weekend adventure (not to say that it would)..
If you dont like the strut spacers price a set of radflo coilovers for up front and see what the total brings you to. It appears most people are complaining about the spacers that are used. The RC kit does come with a front skid included.
