OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

Okay, after basically wearing out my eyeballs for 5 days looking over all the stuff available for my new toy.......

I'm getting the OME with the heavy springs all the way around due to the bumpers & winch and armour I'm going to get, only thing I am seeing is the wide swings in pricing between vendors??

Performance Products has the high range at $409.80 which w/o talking with them is probably the heavy setup.

TOD has the heavy setup at $780.20 with free shipping.

Am I missing something here? Do I need to take another 5 days searching for the best price, who has it in-stock, who's giving free shipping, best overall cost to door? I'm already numb just from the information overload of deciding which suspension I'm getting.....LOL

Check Performance Products again. It actually cost about $695.60 for the complete set-up. Still not a bad price, I have been researching this for a while myself.

Re: OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

I have bought many things from TOD with great results. I can't speak for the Performance Products price, doesn't seem right. TOD is typically very competitive with pricing and all the vendors I've see are within ~$50 of each other.

I would also re-evaluate the heavy springs for the rear. Unless you are going to be towing alot and/or loading the rear with 3-400 lbs, the heavies on the rear will give a pretty rough ride. But, it any case, OME is a great package and worth going with...

Re: OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

Right, which kinda rubs me wrong on the PP pricing online, the ole show the low price online and then you call and once you are done, BAM, double the price.....

Looks like I will be calling TOH today to get a total price, plus they are half the distance/time that PP are from FL.

Not 100% on the heavies for the rear yet, I'm on the fence to go med or hvy on the rear. Again, soooo much info on here and so many people really happy in both setups.....personal choice I suppose.

Re: OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

I remember when the OME setup was under 600. then it got very popular and the price rocketed. It'll probably be 5 years till the prices drop on all the aftermarket FJ stuff, I just can't wait that long. hehehheh

Re: OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

Just for the hell of it I added the kit to the shopping cart at performance products. The total come out to like $660 with free shipping. It gave an instant discount. I decided to call them myself and you reach what seems to be a call center that just sells their products. The guy quoted me the same price online, and when I said thank you and wanted to get off the phone he got pushy. I felt like I walked into a seminar that tries to sell you a time share with a free 3 day cruise at the end just for stopping by. Then he told me that this is one of the last days of the sale. Oh well. Sounded like this guy gets commission for selling products on this site. Not very friendly.

Re: OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

I guess that is the only part that stinks about shopping this stuff so hard or being an 'informed' buyer, takes a bit of extra time to find the best price and then the best vendor to order from, sometimes frustrating. Similar to buying the truck in the first place......

But, I will continue to do that with everything I buy, cause in the end it makes me be able to "afford" more when I spend the least amount for the stuff I want....ha ha ha

Re: OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

I got mine for TOD picked it up locally avoided the shipping cost. Might check you local TOx and see is they will meet or beat TOD..

BTW, I have 886/N140(heavy front) and 896/N141S(heavy rear) I love them but I am also running a Fabfours bumper in front and one day fabfours rear bumper.

Re: OME Pricing - Lot of variation between vendors??

Tattoman, I hate to add to your confusion but there is another option you may want to consider.
You can gain rear articulation by using OME's N71 rear shocks. The N71 is too long for the standard rear spring (could come unseated at extreem travel), so Toytek offers a longer rear spring with their OME lifts.
Mine is at Mudrak being installed today so I can't give a first hand review yet, but others on the board are running this setup.

This setup was about $700 delivered to Nor Cal.
