3" Toytec on the TRD

We finally got the 3" Toytec installed on the TRD this weekend. We stayed with the OME 884 springs to keep the stock ride.
Here's the before & after shot:

She gets noticed WAY more now (we also added a stock roof rack, not pictured).
We kept the stock TRD Bilstein shocks, so far everything is A-OK.

Look for the full install writeup in the April issue of FJC Magazine

Re: 3" Toytec on the TRD

I like my Toytec setup, too (same as yours, but went with OME front shocks and rear N71E shocks).

This should be the way they come out of the box, for sure!

Re: 3" Toytec on the TRD

Shane: So you still have the TRD Bilstein shocks?

Reason I ask is that I now have a set of Bilsteins and was going to do OME 883 springs in front for an added 1.5" to 2"...

What did you do for the rear? Toytec rear spacers?

Looks great BTW. So does your magazine. I have pix to contribute if you are interested....

I do still have the Bilstein. Toytec ordered a 'longer' set from bilstein, but we measured & they were exactly the same length. I haven't tested to see if they bottom out, but my guess is that they won't. We did the Toytec custom springs in the back, worked out wonderfully.

Re: 3" Toytec on the TRD

Looks FANTASTIC! This is what I wanted to do--and keep the Off-Road Package Bilsteins. I just hate to not use them--I don't mind replacing them a couple of years down the road, but want to get some $$$ usage out of them!I was going to call ToyTec today to chat about 885's on the front. I really want a new front bumper, but I may not add a winch.

Maybe Santa will bring me one! I better start talking NOW!

We really like the stock 'rake' (front leaning), so we thought about leaving out the 1/2" spacer to maintain that. Once we had everything apart, we decided to put the spacer in so we didn't have to rip it all out again later.

When we add the All Pro front bumper & M8000 winch, it'll add a little over 150lbs to the front end, which should give us the rake back. I don't think it'll impact the drivability much, but if it does we can always swap coils at a later date.

Re: 3" Toytec on the TRD

Nice looking rig Shane! I didn't realize that you had gotten rid of the Ti for the TRD. Any reason why you went with ToyTec over OME or any other 3 inch lift? Just curious.
