I need a 3 inch lift for less than 700.00

I would like to get opinons on why its bad for rc to have spacers, do they not help the performance at all. They do lift the rig right. Also thinking toytec, or ome but thats alittle pricey.

Basic needs

1. Lift 3 inches.
2. Reliability for a long time with no problems, for light to mild wheeling, mostly snow mud and water crossings and light hill climbs.
3. Needs to be within budget.

Also pictures and suggestions would be appreciated also if you have a certain lift please explain if you had any problems and how long you had it how much and etc...

Not trying to be a pain here, but there are probably dozens of threads on this forum that have delved into this topic in great detail if you are willing to search them out...

Some basic points to ponder -

Any time you use spacers to add larger, heavier tires to original springs and shocks, you are adding additional stress those components were not designed to handle. They will fatigue faster, which will eventually cost you more money to restore the vehicle back to its modified height.

The performance will be the same as stock or worse (do to fatigue). spacers do nothing to upgrade the performance of the suspension, they only give you room to add larger tires. Stock shocks are valved for the lighter stock size, and will not perform as well as shocks valved for a lifted suspension with a heavier tire / wheel combination.

You get what you pay for. I'll get flamed, I'm sure, for continuing to stress what is, IMO, an obvious point, but I stand firm. While prices can vary a little based on when and where you buy them, in general, better components costs more money. If you don't want to sacrifice the ride quality, performance, and durability of the parts or your FJC, consider saving up and using a true suspension system to accomplish this task. You'll be happier with the way the vehicle performs on and off road, and the parts will hold up better and last longer under continued use. Most folks end up using the vehicle more aggressively over time, and a suspension that includes better springs, and shocks, will be worth the extra dough you spend in the long run.

Sorry to ramble on - good luck on your decision...

I have the RC 6" and if i had to with 3" i would choose OME. It seems like a popular setup that did not people let people down. BTW the price suggested in the comparison is 699

OME is your best buy. I have 2.5" Daystar spacers which are fantastic, but the OME is a far better setup. Full suspension kit unlike the RC 3" lift kit. Can be found from 600-800$

i love the OME suspension. It is one time adjustable (buy the right spring rate) for many different setups. Much better ride and look then stock. Notice you don't see anyone ever having problems with the OME kit (once it is installed correctly).

Re: I need a 3 inch lift for less than 700.00

Very good advice,"search the forum", I looked over the member build quite a bit. That helped me the most, seeing the different combo.'s of lift's & tire size's. I was in the same boat you are in- Don't have a ton of $$, & only expect to do mild off roading-dirt road's & rail bed's. the most expensive part of the deal are the price of tires(never had to buy 17"'s-big $$ diff. from 31"w/15" rims). The other reply's are true but, on a budget I went with Toytec 3" spacer & custom ride rear springs, They gave me a discount for being a member here. Getting to long I'll PM You with the other info..

I have the RC 3". I liked the price. Does everything I need. I have been on many trail rides and it serves it's purpose well with no issues. My goal was just to gain more clearance and get bigger tires. I know there will by many differing opinions but the RC lift has worked very well for me.

Re: I need a 3 inch lift for less than 700.00

I have the OME Med. lift and for the money approx. $750 I fell it the best option. The ride is better then stock and if you plan on adding a winch or heavyer front bumper it can support the weight unlike spacers.
