Re: Installed SAW Hybrid Kit

DC have you thought about getting some upper control arms? i want to get saw all around but am going to get Total Chaos upper Control arms also supposedly it gives better clearance around the shocks (no rubbing issues) and better control and easier to align if i read right???

Re: Installed SAW Hybrid Kit

I asked Mark at Metal Tech about UCA's and he said that in their experiance that they weren't necessary unless you are having alignment problems and that the money spent on them could be used on other mods unless absolutely needed. Also they seem to require a lot of maintenance with lubing of the joints.

I am taking mine in for an alignment next Fri so we will see how it works out. So unless needed for alignment purposes and I have no clearance issues then I will save the money for now. Maybe in the future if I have run outta mods and still have the mod fever and some extra cash burning a hole in my pocket well maybe then. LOL

I ran the Total Chaos UCAs on my Xterra and they were as advertisd. They have zirk fittings through which I add marine grade grease every few months and I didn't have any other maintenance issues. However, the red (I think they are polymer) bushings can be a bit noisy no matter how much grease you feed 'em.

Re: Installed SAW Hybrid Kit

I talked to Mark and he said the differance in steering was worth the extra cost of upgrade.

ummm thats weird because I asked him about the UCA's and that was his answer to me. Oh well we will see after the alignment how it is and will see then.

Re: Installed SAW Hybrid Kit

It's 2.5 to 2.75 depending what you put up front.
