Re: All Pro Fox 2.0 Review
Thanks for the good/useful review of the Fox 2.0's....I was thinking about getting a set of these, and the more I hear about them, the more I like them.
So you guys run 6/5 or 7/6 while off road? Is that just in the rocks or for any type of off road? I want to play more with the off road settings but I need to wait until I can get onto the more difficult trails with other people. I am pretty much set on the freeway though. I have had the same commute for the last 10 years so for me it was a good baseline and minimised the "I just spent $$$$ on a lift of course it rides great!" effect.
As for cost, give Terry at All Pro a call and have him give you a quote.
I run 6/5 on moderate trails...Jon could speak more on the crawling thing...I don't go there.

Ride quality is a personal thing and that's why an adjustable shock is so important. By just turning a knob on the shock reservoir you can tune the ride quality to what feels best for you. Brian while testing his liked them on 1 to get that super soft or marshmello type ride. I like it to have firmer valving and control body roll off-road. When you are on an off camber section and your tire drops in a hole that stiffer valving controls the body roll of the vechicle quicker. You get less side to side sway of the vechicle, although the ride may not be as plush as a softer setting. You could also look at it as setting #1 as a waterbed and #8 as a firm mattress. I won't go into the advantages of a firm mattress-VS-a waterbed you can analyze that one on your own.
I have the Fox 2.0 . Can you post a picture of the rear shocks. Because I am curious. I installed the shocks myself and I thought they just bolted on, but I had to modify them a little. I had to make the bottom eyelet of the shock bigger because they didn't seem to fit the stock mount. I thought they gave me the wrong shocks. If anyone has a picture please post. O Ya ! I just did an off road trip and I love these! I am glad I spent the extra coin. It was totaly worth it.
pics are always welcome! sounds like they ride nice

They probably had the steel sleeve inserted in the bushing that fits the Tacoma lower mount. Those sleeves are supposed to come in a plastic baggie and not in the bushing.

Yes you are correct the sleeve is for the Taco application. Even without the sleeve it still wouldn't fit the stud. So I had to drill out the rubber gromet because If I didn't I would have blown out the bushing on the eyelet. So I was wondering if anyone else had to do the same thing or did they have another solution to this problem.

It sounds like it had the wrong bushing installed at Fox. The FJ Cruiser uses a 3/4 ID bushing if that's not what was in there I can send you some.
Thanks Brian for the product review. It's interesting to see your choices of where to set the compression adjustment on the shocks to get the ride you're most comfortable with. I like 5 on the front and 4 on the rear for highway driving but I turn it up a click or two for off-road or rockcrawling. It's nice to have those options or adjustability available because every driver certainly has his own tastes.

Jon, I ran OME heavies front and rear and I now run the Fox setup and 2 in the front and 3 in the rear, any stiffer than that I found to be not so pleasant, so to me it a surprise that so many of you run them so stiff.

What I can't believe is that there's such a wide variance in what people think is a comfortable ride. We've got customers who love them on the softest setting and customers who like the firmest, and everywhere in between.
