Wild West Off Road rear lower control arms

After seeing Uphill's thread here, and talking about the Man-A-Fre rear lower control arms, I am wondering if anyone has bought the new Wild West Off Road rear lower control arms?

It looks like Tim's site above hot hacked, so it is not all working now.

There is a review on these by David Zartman owner of 4WD Toyota Owner magazine in the new May/June 2008 issue.

David had told me about these bars around December of '06 when we were down at ARB, and I had talked to Tim about them too about getting them installed, but I never got down to his business to check them out.

It looks like it would be these or the Man-A-Fre's for me when the time comes to get a pair.

The Wild West Off Road design has the middle part of the bar arching up for more clearance when going over a rock that would otherwise come in contact with a straight bar.

David has beat the crap out of his on the Rubicon with his Land Cruiser, and they hold up very well.

Interesting concept, my only fear would be getting your rear axxle caught on a rock and actually straigtening one of the bends, then your rig is A) gonna track sideways or B)rub tire hard on the wheelwell. or both. I also dont like that it left that little guy hanging out there to get beat. I'd like to see some reviews and tests on this also.

I saw these last week, I am wondering what the clearance is like with the frame and sway bar link when the suspension is compressed it would seem there would be contact with one or both of them.

The pic on there site is not of a FJ so I question weather these actually work with the FJ or not if we could get some one that has these to post some pictures that would be great.

I called Wild West yesterday to get some info on these. Apparently the delay in product release (and pricing) has to do with the bushings. They are going to use Toyota OE bushings which haven't been available without the entire LCA. It sounds like they worked a deal to get these from Toyota and are waiting to get them. They thought the arms might be available in about 3 weeks. No price out yet due to the unknown final price of the bushings (pricey). You can email them and get on their notification waiting list.

There was an article on this in one of the 4wd magazine recently (4wd Toyota owners or something like that). It did show it going over rocks and it looked GOOD! The little kind appear to work well when a rock is in the way. I don't know the clearance on full compression though. I like the idea. Just need more details on how sturdy the tubes are. With a kink, it should inherently be weaker then a straight design, so hopefully it's not a thin-walled design.
