Is the FJC a 1/4 or 1/2 ton truck?

I need to pull a trailer that is within the 5000 limit, but the rental guy needs to know if the FJ is a 1/2 ton or more. I can not find any info on this but wonder if I have the calculation correct.

GVWR 5570 lbs
Curb Weight -4295 lbs
Load Capacity= 1270 lbs

1/2 ton = 1000lbs

So does this make the FJ a 1/2 truck?

The whole 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, 1-ton thing is an ancient system and has practically no meaning anymore. You should ask the guy what he thinks that means...

i just did a little reading and yes, it would be under the classification of a 1/2 ton truck.
