6 inch lifts are for looks imo, I have seen to many times 6 inchers have a lot of trouble going over an obstacle that 3 inch just breeze across. and in our terrain here if you have a 6 inch, you have a higher chance of a roll over than a 3 does..
Yes I like the look, But I would not like having to deal with a high center of gravity..to deal with on a trail..
Exactly the reason we are going with a 3 inch lift and not a 6. We also have tons of off-camber stuff here in AZ, and I have seen rigs with high center of gravity almost flop it while others with 3 inches of lift never had to think twice about the same obstacle. I am also not a fan of the drop diff kits...

I have a 3" lift and now I wish I had done a 6". Am I the only one that feels this way?

Anyone have a 6" that wish they would have only done a 3" lift??
I recently installed the Rough Country 6" kit with 33x 12.50 Nokian MT's and I couldn't be happier. Not only was the install a breeze minus the tight fitting replacement Toyota spindle seals, but the kit is extremely well built and thought out. My kit had the addition of the improved bump stops that I had tack welded instead of bolted to my frame so that a paint-over makes them look like they should belong there. If you would like a look at the process, check out my member pics on this site.

I would highly recommend the Rough Country kit over the Pro Comp as there is no frame cutting required whatsoever unless you elect to run 35's which I believe to be too big for the stock drivetrain on the FJ. Once I have to bucks to upgrade to a Dana 44/60 combo, I may choose to upgrade.

For right now, this buggy will go anywhere now and the ride is comparable if not better than stock with reinforced spindles, front diff brackets and a well thought out design.

Don't listen to the others, CG is not a problem if you can drive. Ride on!!!
