New Extended Length Bilstein Shocks Specifically for FJ Cruiser

ok, I've done the search and can't find where this shock has been mentioned yet.

First, does anyone know what the stock rear shock length is fully extended and compressed?

Bilstein now offers an FJ specific rear shock absorber that is 2" longer than stock for those that have a lift on the rear. This shock does not require an adapter according to Bilstein's technical help line.

Part number F4-BE5-E703-H0
Extended 23.50"
Compressed 14.91"
Valving 128/105
Lift 0 - 2"

They also have another that will fit the FJ but is really for the 4Runner but this one is only 1" longer.

Part number F4-BE5-C514-H0
Extended 22.53"
Compressed 14.67"
Valving 128/105
Lift 0 - 1"

The following shock is the 5125 sold by ToyTec that requires an adapter. Keep in mind that you lose about an inch in compression due to the adapter but also gain an inch in extension for the same reason.

Part number F4-BE5-A463-H0
Extended 24.35"
Compressed 15.11"
Valving 255/70

One last shock is the Explorer ProComp ES9000 which does not require an adapter

Part number 92451X
Extended 24.70"
Compressed 14.50"
Valving unknown

According to Bilstein's Valving Quick Reference Chart 255/70 valving is "Performance-for aggressive high speed off-road" and 170/60 is for comfort for mid-size truck and SUV.

I dont know the length but I do know that Toytec pushes the Procomp you mention above. They say they ride as good as anything at a much better price. I know a few guys with them in the rear and they love them.

I'm pretty sure that this is that shock absorber! It is FJ specific and shows as for a 2" lift. I'm just trying to verify for certain. See link below

Bilstein Electronic Catalog - 2" Lift FJ Shock

I just went and measured my stock rear shocks, 22.35" ext. and 13.85" comp. Don't really know how accurate my measurements are but I have the 5125's that Toytec sells and they are exactly 2"s longer than stock. I also have the 5100 adjustables in the front and couldn't be happier. They ride great!
Here are a couple of pics showing the articulation I am getting with the 5125's.

Re: New Extended Length Bilstein Shocks Specifically for FJ Cruiser

If your using Toytec's custom rear coils I would stay with the 5125's and adapter. The adapter makes it about 25.35" extended vs. the 5100 23.50 extended. If you don't like using the adapter go with the ES9000. Both are longer than the new 5100 coming out. The Toytec coil is 2.5" longer than stock. Last time I was testing mine, the Bilstein 5125 w/adapter still limited down travel some.

Here is another flex pic to go with the nice one Jbell added.

NICE RIG, I MIGHT HAVE TO TRY THE 5125'S FOR THE REAR, ARE YOU STILL LEVELED OUT FROM THE FRONT? AND WHAT SETTING ARE YOU ON FOR THE FRONTS? ALSO ANY RUBBING ISSUES OR BODY CHOP? THX.

I am at the highest setting on the front and have OME springs in the rear. The rear of my truck sits about 1.25 higher than the front and I have no rubbing issues or a body mount chop.
Here is pic for you to see the rake with 5100's up front and OME lift in the rear.
