Re: FJ Alignment Specs

After reading multiple 'Alignment' threads my head is spinnin'! One question puleeze! I have OME 2-3 inch lift with BFG A/T's 285-70-17 on stock alum wheels. What front aligment specs are working best for this setup? Help?

Re: FJ Alignment Specs

Just got the FJ aligned a couple days ago...

here is what my alignment looks like right now:

camber - left: 0.2 right: 0.1
caster - left: 3.2 right: 2.8
toe - left: 0.05 right: 0.05
sai - lefft: 11.4 right: 12.0

cross camber: 0.2
cross caster: 0.4
cross sai: -0.6
total toe: 0.1

this looks a bit off from the aligment specs given in the op...

the vehicle will pull right pretty fast when i let go of the wheel...

the wheel also sits turned slightly right when i go straight...

opinions?..ideas?..comments?

Re: FJ Alignment Specs

I installed the 5100s giving me about 2" of lift up front. I took it to the dealer with a slight pull to the left. They returned it to me with a hard pull to the right. I went back a second time and recieved the FJ with a very slight pull to the right and the wheel sits slightly to the right.
Final specs:
camber .25L .035R
caster 2.79L 2.55R
toe .05L .02R

Do you think if I get them to drop the camber to 0 and raise the right toe to .05, my pull will go away?

Re: FJ Alignment Specs

as of right now, after the dealer having my vehicle in 2x since my lift(at which point, it went totally straight, i just wanted to make sure it was all good) every time it goes in, they mess it up worse, it started after the alignment pulling the wheel hard to the right, to the point that on a highway, you would be in the next lane w/i 4-7 seconds, i mean like you were changing lanes.

after the 2nd time, it still pulls the wheel to the right, as well as wanders right even on perfectly flat roads that do indeedd flood and puddle when it rains out.

i am pissed, cause they are now saying that my tires belts have shifted(ta-ko's, stock size, not offroaded) and they even crossrotated, in which case they damaged all 4 of my centercaps...

well, it drives like schit now, it was better when i lifted it and just droveit.

now my wheel has to sit at 1115-1130 just to go straight, and if centered, it goes wayy left, and if you let go, well, if i have to sneeze 3 times, by the 3rd one, im on the shoulder(just for reference...)

this sucks asz, i wish they would just gimme back my 70 bucks, so i can go elsewhere.

i even got a door ding last time when they had it all day.

Re: FJ Alignment Specs

Firestone has a lifetime alignment deal for like $149. That's the route I'll be taking next time around.

I've done several alignments on fj's with lift kit both with and without upper control arms. All of them have driven straight the 1st time. I did mine more than a year ago and has no signs of abnormal tire wear. Also, none of the other fjs I have aligned seem to have any tire wear problems or pulling problems with the steering wheel at the 12:00 position. If you want to shoot me your specs on your alignments if you are having problems I can tell you where the alignment is going wrong.

Re: FJ Alignment Specs

I've posted a pic of my alignment report. This is for a 2" level lift spacer only. I have no idea what I'm looking at, but the green would lead me to believe they were able to get everything back within spec. The red shows that after the lift it did need to be re-aligned. Everything seems fine, it tracks straight and the wheel is oriented properly so I'm pretty pleased.
