Best In-Dash GPS? Any Ideas?

I'm working on kitting-out an '07 FJ and I need some advice on GPSs. What are the best systems to put in the dash compartment on the driver's side? I'd like a system that has good data and maps for trail use. I'd also like something that won't blind me at night. Last thing -anyone know whether it's too difficult to hard wire it so I won't have a power cable dangling out of the cigarette lighter? Thanks.

Re: Best In-Dash GPS? Any Ideas?

Im not too sure how much you know about GPS units, but I recommend a stand alone unit. I like to be able to move my unit wherever I need it ie: rental car, backpack, etc. I have a garmin and I love it! There are a ton of features and as for your power cord concern....yes you can hard wire it, but I dont think its necessary. The batteries that come with most GPS units last upwards of 7 hours! To answer your question, Ive heard that the Pioneer Avic series have very nice GPS capabilities
