Does anyone know if there is a competent shop in Texas that can install the TC 2" LT kit from Metal Tech? Looking at getting the front and rear LT from Metal Tech and looking at my options in addition to shipping the FJ up to Oregon. I want it done right and looking for input from either someone who has had a shop do it or knows of a shope that is capable and competent. Thanks for any input on this. John

BaerTrax in DFW area. I highly recommend Josh and his team to do anything for FJ's. Once you see the rigs he works on at that shop, you'll know your in good hands.
If you're not doing cam tab gussets or tower gussets, it's not that big of a deal. MT will send the axles completed, so most is R&R. Alex's recommendation would be more than capable to perform.
Unless you are welding in additional gussets it appears to be a bolt on affair. Granted I've run the gambit from aircraft to rally cars but it really is LEGOS for the competent wrencher if there is no welding involved.
OC,
They ever get the leaking CVs worked out on those? I'm really thinking I need to follow your lead for my purposes.
Krawltex is probably the closest to you and the guys there have done a number of fjc long travel setups. They are based out of austin and do high quality work. Id also recommend take it to a shop so you can make sure bump is set properly for your setup. Typically requires depressurizing air bumps if you are running them and refilling with nitrogen
Sarge, just an FYI, BRAVE Motorsports shop number is (713) 896-8559, but the number you posted will be directed to staff as well. Folks at Javier's and BRAVE did all the work on my fjc.

Yup- CV's were fixed with some Norma SS Worm gear clamps. I might get a drip every once in awhile but no real issue. The clunking sound I heard was the wheel/ hub assembly that had become loose. Once tightened- no issue.
I can say that the LT really gave me an advantage on many of the trails at WTF, Once the Lefty is done along with the re-gear and locker up front- should make this a pretty decent crawler.

My bad, corrected #!

Thanks for the info to all. I'll keep doing some research while I am still far away from home. No worries on discussing this here as I can learn from what you guys are posting. So no worries about hacking As far as doing the install myself, I could probably do it as I've worked on cars and helicopters for several years, but I really would rather enjoy my time off when I get back and it's worth it to me to have it done professionally. I'll be doing some stuff on my own like the seats, and some electrial anyway.
