Rainy Jamboree

I know it's early to speculate, especially in TX, but it looks like a possibility of percipitation over the weekend. Having never attended an event like this before, I'm wondering how much it will hamper the event. If at all.

Also, I plan on arriving on Friday to set up camp. Any of you seasoned campers have any priceless advice for a relative noob in the rain?

Re: Rainy Jamboree

Mud tires and a willingness to get real dirty.

Bring a shovel and tow straps also, that way you can get unstuck if needed. Front and rear attachment points are also a must, the front has tow hooks and so does the rear but, they are relatively low. I would suggest a tow receiver shackle mount if you have the towing package. Is it too late to get a front bumper with shackle mounts?

Well, I just got some ATs, CB, and Highlift. No way I'm getting any more goodies for FJ in the near future. I'm more concerned with the camping situation, though. Oh well, barring a tornado I will try and have the best time possible.

You could get a hotel in Gilmer if need be. Executive Inn seems to be the best choice. We will have some save shelter form the storm though.

Re: Rainy Jamboree

Rain will normally make the trails 2-3x more difficult at BMRA. Hopefully we don't get too much.

Re: Rainy Jamboree

Yeah, the forecast IS for DFW and Gilmer IS down the road a piece. So maybe Gilmer doesn't share DFW's fate.

Guess if it gets too wet I will delegate myself to taking pictures of those with MTs.
